Last May 30,2012, I went to SM Manila to visit the exhibit of old churches in the Philippines. Seeing these churches in photos makes me fall in love with the Philippines even more.
I honestly don't know the name of this church but I find the details very interesting.
Here are some shots I took in the exhibit.
I just noticed that most of the designs of our churches were based from Philippine culture and were greatly influenced by the country's weather since various calamities always struck unpredictably. They were usually constructed in massive masonry.
Good thing, I chose Heritage as my architectural specialization. I would be given larger opportunities to visit these heritage sites and to see the beauty of our country. What excites me more is learning about the history behind the design of these churches. Every church seems to be built in a different era. I would love to learn more about Church Architecture in my specialization. Can't wait.
